Before we mounted our latest piece, we lined up Jeff Harvey alongside for scale in the Juice Signs & Design studio.

Thanks Emma, Justin and Jeff for helping us constantly improve our AFM presentation.

A veteran of Marriages, Funerals and thousands of turnouts, the AVFB’s barrel-nose late thirties Ford V8 appliance was the brigades first internal combustion fire engine that had an integral on board pump.
Still in original condition, it has never been restored and is a priceless survivor.
It provided service as a wedding appliance only recently and after all these years now responds to a different kind of call.

The crew were busy installing a massive new image in our display this morning when we received a very interested visitor all the way from the Mt Fuji area of Japan.
Mako spent a good long while with us and her enthusiasm for the Ashburton Fire Museum was very obvious.
Nice to meet you Mako.

He’s the man to contact to arrange any special visits to the Ashburton Fire Museum.
We often are approached by visiting firefighters passing through Mid Canterbury.
We will do our best to meet your requests.
Same goes for school and special
Interest group visits.
We are fortunate to be well supported by our local community including funding trusts and aim to share our collection as broadly as possible.

The famous DENNIS fire appliance make has featured twice in the Ashburton brigades history.
Firstly, a brand-new Rolls Royce-powered, straight 6, petrol, Dennis F8 which joined the brigade in 1958.
And secondly, a 1992 SS Dennis which had previously served in the United Kingdom before being shipped to New Zealand where it joined the Ashburton fleet.
Both are preserved in the Ashburton Fire Museum and appeared back at Burnett Street at the AVFB 150th public open day back in November 2024.
