NZ Football Foundation Our aim is to enable more New Zealanders to experience the joy of football and develop a love of the game for life, so that no one is left on the sidelines

The New Zealand Football Foundation is a charitable trust using the power of football to create opportunities, strengthen communities, and make sure no one is left on the sidelines. Our mission is to raise and distribute funds to create opportunities and remove barriers to community football. Since 2010, we’ve raised and distributed over $2 million to grassroots football projects across Aotearoa - supporting participation, facilities, coaching, and community wellbeing. We believe football has the power to change lives. To learn more or get involved click the link to our website in our bio.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️

One in nine New Zealand women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime - but early detection makes a huge difference to outcomes. This month, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is running their Pink Ribbon Street Appeal, Pink Ribbon Walks, and lighting up landmarks across the country pink to spread the message.

We'd encourage our community to get behind Breast Cancer Foundation NZ - whether that's a donation, joining a walk, or just taking a moment to check in on your own health.

When communities come together, awesome things happen! ⚽💙

The South Auckland Girls Cluster brings Clendon United AFC inc and Papakura City FC together to give junior girls a safe, fun space to play locally. Both clubs have done an incredible job driving this initiative forward, paving the way and doing incredible work to grow the game for local girls.

The two clubs were brought together by Mahalia, our Thriving Communities Officer, a role in partnership with Northern Region Football, New Zealand Football, and the NZ Football Foundation to break down barriers, support local clubs, and strengthen community sport.

Welcome to the team, Gilmours Manukau!

Supporting local communities and creating meaningful social impact are at the heart of how Gilmours Manukau operates.

Throughout FY26, they have invested in grassroots sport, youth development, essential social services and charitable initiatives across South Auckland-including the Graeme Di**le Foundation, Middlemore Hospital Wellness Week, Station 34 local fire station, Foodies Foundation, The Grace Foundation and the Daisy Chang Christmas Invitational Golf Day.

Now, Gilmours Manukau is joining the New Zealand Football Foundation family to support its ball programme, helping ensure no one is left on the sidelines.

This partnership will help thousands of tamariki across South Auckland access a football, get involved in the game and experience the confidence, friendships and sense of belonging that football can create.

Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier and more connected community-and helping more young people fall in love with the beautiful game.

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 🖤🤍❤️

This week (14–20 September) is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori - and every day has its own theme for bringing te reo Māori into everyday life.

Saturday 19 September's theme is Te Reo i te Kori Tinana — "Move with te reo" — all about sport, movement and wellbeing.

For a lot of us, Saturday means game day, so it's the perfect excuse to bring a bit of te reo onto the field this week: a "kia ora" at kickoff, "kei te pai" for a good pass, "makaia mai te pōro" to call for the ball and "Kia kaha ake e kare mā!" to cheer for your team.

You don't need to be fluent to take part, every small effort counts. Kia kaha te reo Māori.

Free resources (posters, word lists and more) are available at reomaori.co.nz/resources if you and your club want to get involved.

Kia kaha te reo Māori. 🖤🤍❤️
