Hey all! We have been collaborating with Te Rua Makerspace in the library on Tuesdays before SAGA! Missed out on the last one? No worries! We have two more this term in weeks 3 and 5 (or Tue 7 May, Tue 21 May) from 4pm-6pm! This is a fun and casual space to hang out before SAGA officially begins on a Tuesday night, so feel free to pop by between classes or if you're just looking for more of your board game fix!

SURPRISE EVENT!!!

We're doing a surprise board games event with the UCSA tonight.

From 6pm in the Foundry (UCSA building) we're going to be playing some games and relaxing.

Food is a possibility, it's still being determined.

Bring along your friends, family, acquaintances, random strangers off the street... (Ok probably not the last one...)
You'll also be able to sort out your SAGA membership for the year if you haven't already, or shanghai your friends and flatmates into doing so.

We'll have a selection of our board game collection there tonight, so we hope to see you all there.

AGM NOTICE.

Howdy Howdy Hey Friends,

It's AGM time!
22nd of September (second Thursday of term 4.) 2022. Jack Erskine 111, 6:10pm
THERE WILL BE PIZZA SO YOU BETTER TURN UP! (more pizza info in the p.s.)
If it fails we will hold it the following Tuesday (27/9/22, JE 244, 6.10pm) but there will not be pizza so you had better turn up to the first one. I mean it. Please.

Wanna help us run SAGA? Then make sure you're a paid member and be at the meeting! Only thing on the agenda is voting in the next wave of executives so it'll be a quick meeting then pizza!!! Want more infos about the roles and what it's like behind the scenes? Feel free to have a chat with any of the current exec or email the saga gmail or have a look at the section on roles in the constitution. Boy howdy so many options!!

Not sure if you are a paid member? You'll have a membership card. Don’t have one or not sure if you have paid and lost it? Ask Grace or one of the other exec members! We’ll check the record and get you sorted. Wanna become a member to vote or become an exec member? You gotta be paid up so make sure you are!

As you may know we tried to hold something similar to this earlier in term 3 and it failed, if it fails this time we’ll have big problems. Please don't let it. Without a successful AGM the club may have to fold. Do you use our rooms or games or even just enjoy the discord? Without exec that stuff will stop. Without an AGM it will stop. Please make sure you’ve paid for membership and attend the AGM. WE NEED YOU.

Hello all,

This is a quick two-part message to inform you about some awesome events coming up in the next two weeks.

The first bit is a formal notice of an SGM (special general meeting) that we will be holding on 19/7/22; at the first Tuesday evening session of semester 2. We the committee need to bring an important issue to you for your consideration and input.

The main one is that our current and lovely Quartermaster is wanting to step down as he has been finding it hard to fulfill his duties due to changes in his work schedule from when he was first voted on at the AGM last year. So far the rest of the execs have been able to fill the gaps but it is not a great long-term fix. We are hoping to vote someone into the role at this SGM. We do not currently have anyone who is confirmed for the role so if you are interested, contact us and/or come along on the day as we will ask the floor for volunteers.

If we don’t have anyone step forward then we will talk to you all about what might happen going forward and see if you all have any further input into the issues.

If you would like a copy of the agenda and the constitution, either reach out or if you are a current member, check your spam folder for a copy of this notice that contains all the links.

Now onto the less formal part!

We are a go for a mini-con this weekend! Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of July we will have rooms in Rehau booked with the club's board games in attendance but feel free to bring your own! There are also some TTRPG games likely to run so join the discord or turn up the day of to group up with people. We also have someone coming in who is going to demo a game he is designing so look out for that.

And then coming up on the 26th of July (the second Tuesday of semester 2) we have a games night with UCSA! On that night we will have our normal RPG rooms available in JE but the board games will be held in Haera-roa. There will be at least one one-shot running in the room also. As it is a UCSA-backed event that they have invited us onboard for, THERE WILL BE FREE FOOD!!! I know that I am excited. Doors will be open from 5pm so feel free to arrive then but our normal 6pm is when everyone from the exec that's going to be there will be for sure and it will be kicking off proper. If you are keen to be an official SAGA rep and help teach games or run a one-shot let us know :)

Greetings and Salutations SAGAites, We are burdened with glorious news.

We wish to announce that we, SAGA, shall be holding our second Minicon of the year this next.

From 10 am on Saturday 16 of July come and join us in Rehua 101 for the playing of Board games, Role-playing and general shenanigans. Then again on Sunday join us from 10 am for another excellent day of gaming.

We shall have the majority of our Board Games Library with us, along with some of the RPG collection. Feel free to pop in and out for various games as your schedule permits, or perhaps a single extensive game of something like Twilight Imperium that you couldn’t normally fit into a regular SAGA night.

Roleplaying will of course depend on GM’s being interested in running a game, but rooms and space are available to be used.

Entry is free with a membership card, however, entry prices for non-members will be a gold coin.
Due to COVID, this will still be a Masks Required event.

We hope to see you all in attendance and look forward to facing you across the board game.
