Friendship isn’t extra. It’s fuel. 💛
Life gets busy.
Work, relationships, kids, responsibilities, routines… and before we know it, friendship becomes the thing we fit in “when we have time.”
But research continues to show something powerful:
Connection isn’t just good for us, it helps us thrive.
People with strong social connections tend to:
✨ Feel happier and more optimistic
✨ Cope better with stress and setbacks
✨ Experience greater confidence and resilience
✨ Feel a stronger sense of purpose and belonging
✨ Have better overall health and wellbeing
✨ Feel more like themselves
And importantly even the strongest marriage or partnership doesn’t replace friendship. Partners give us love and partnership. Friends often give us perspective, shared experiences, identity, encouragement and community.
You don’t stop needing connection because you found your person.
You still need people who:
☕ say “come for coffee”
🚶 message “want to go for a walk?”
😂 laugh until your face hurts
🎉 celebrate your wins
❤️ remind you who you are outside of all your roles
So if you’ve been thinking:
“I should make more time for friends.”
“I wish I had more people around me.”
“I want to find my village.”
Take this as your sign.
Send the message.
Say yes to the coffee.
Join the group.
Start the conversation.
Connection doesn’t happen by accident but beautiful things can start with one brave hello.
