Being a seafarer is not like any other job. There is family separation, they face social barriers and crews are in a cycle of monotonous routines.
The Mission To Seafarers operates over 120 centres across 50 countries. Free Wi-Fi and free transport is also offered in most ports.
At the centres there are chaplains and volunteers who listen, offer counseling and deliver mental health and spiritual guidance.

Shoreleave is a chance to step away from life on board for a while, and have a change of scenery.

For seafarers who spend so much time away from their loved ones, its great being able to slow down a little.

During sea voyages ships do offer internet connections but often those are slow and not suitable for video calls. The Mission to Seafarers offers fast, free wifi units to vessels with unlimited data.
