For those who have expressed an interest in representing SBA in the Langton Cup, please hold off registering until teams are named. Teams should be named by this Monday.

This will just make it easier for BBT to not have to reimburse those who aren’t selected.

This tournament will be costing $40 per player and will be paid upon registering.

The Langton Cup is back for 2026. Established by the Langton Family from Ōpunake, this tournament was created to provide young basketball players from across Taranaki with the opportunity to have fun, compete, and enjoy a local tournament experience.

All players, regardless of their association, will register directly with Basketball Taranaki. The player registration fee is $40 per child.

Following the close of registrations, associations will receive the list of players from within their district and will take the lead in forming teams.

Basketball Taranaki is excited to launch our 2026 Under 14 Representative Programme

We’re inviting all eligible athletes to attend our three open muster sessions. These sessions are a great opportunity for players to meet our coaching staff, learn the Basketball Taranaki style of play, and become familiar with the language and concepts used throughout the programme.

Cost: $10 total (covers all three muster sessions)

Sunday 14 June – Muster 1

SBA will be holding our AGM next Tues, 17 March.
7pm at Ink Pot.

Congratulations to our men's and women's teams who competed in the Coach McKean Memorial tournament on the weekend. Both squads were probably the youngest we had entered into this tournament to date, but they competed well and did the club proud. Our women's team managed a credible 3rd place, with our mens team just falling short in a tight tussell with Hawera for 5th/6th place.

A big thanks to BBT for organising the tournament again, and also to Kevin Fenwick, who retired this week from his role as General Manager. SBA wish you all the best in your retirement!
