A huge thank you to the fabulous Jayne Tankersley for providing two weekends of choral coaching for our choristers!

Including scuba diving, whining, and 'The Splat', the choir was treated to a whole variety of vocal tricks and techniques to promote healthy, beautiful singing.

Jayne also had one-on-one sessions with members of the choir, providing invaluable feedback and input on each individual's singing technique.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Rotorua District Choir in 2025!

We have had a particularly busy year, enjoying collaborations with a whole range of wonderful choirs: Stanford Chamber Chorale, Inachord Singers, Hamilton Civic Choir and Tauranga Civic Choir. We have worked with fantastic choristers, stand-out soloists, inspiring conductors, and been treated to incredibly supportive audiences.

We wish you all the best for this festive season and the incoming year, and will leave you with a snippet of kiwiana from our recent Christmas concerts 🥝

The choir loves having the chance to sing in the atrium at Rotorua Hospital - not just for the opportunity to share joy and music during the Christmas period, but LISTEN to those acoustics 😍

We're looking forward to joining Inachord Singers Tauranga and Te Aroha Singers Community Choir next week for our mini 'BOP' sing!

The choirs will hold a joint workshop in the morning, working on pieces that we will then perform during the afternoon concert, along with a couple of songs each of our own.

We held a similar event in Rotorua last year, and were delighted by the joy brought by the sharing of music between communities. If you are in Tauranga at 3pm on August 16th, do come and have a listen! Koha entry, with all proceeds going to the Tauranga Women's Refuge.
