Long Story Short

Long Story Short Explore the story of the Bible with our easy-to-understand 9-part video series! Journey from start to finish as we answer common questions along the way.

Long Story Short is free for everyone, no matter where you are in your faith journey! Long Story Short is a video series designed to unfold the story of the Bible. The Bible’s a big book and, let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard to get your head around it all. Long Story Short simply strips the story back to its core and then presents the story in a way that is accessible to everyone. It’s all about

discovering the heartbeat of the Bible, in as short as seven weeks, without all the tradition and protocol of Western religion. The story starts at the beginning, taking us back to the moment it all began… and then follows the main storyline which eventually brings us to Jesus, explaining who he is and why he came into the world. It’s that simple! Simple – but not superficial. And, during this journey, some of life’s big questions are addressed: Is it possible God exists? What about the Bible? Who is God? Who am I? What’s gone wrong? Why so many religions? What’s with Israel? Who is Jesus and why is he important? What about faith? To get a real taste of Long Story Short, watch the first episode here:

Four verses for the hard times. Save these for when you need them most. 🙏

📖 Psalm 34:18 — The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

📖 1 Corinthians 2:9 — What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived — the things God has prepared for those who love Him.

📖 2 Corinthians 12:9 — My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

📖 James 1:2–3 — Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Whatever you’re walking through right now, you are not alone. God is near, His grace is enough, and He is working something beautiful even in the hard.

Romans 5:1-8 🧡

What if science didn’t replace God — but was born because of Him?

John Lennox makes a point that doesn’t get nearly enough airtime: Newton, Galileo, Kepler — the fathers of modern science — were all men of deep faith. They believed the universe was ordered because a rational God created it. That belief is what made them go looking.

Worth sitting with. 👇 Drop your thoughts below.

Forgiveness, love, provision, humanity and total surrender. These are the last words of our saviour on the cross and each gives us a glimpse of who Jesus really was.

Crucifixion wasn’t just painful — it was designed to be shameful.

In the Roman world, it was reserved for the lowest of the low — slaves, rebels, criminals. To die on a cross was to be publicly humiliated, stripped of dignity, and cursed in the eyes of Jewish law (Deuteronomy 21:23 says anyone hung on a tree is under God’s curse).

So when Jesus was crucified, it wasn’t a surprise to the Romans or religious leaders. It was meant to be the end of the story.

But here’s the thing — the cross wasn’t a Plan B.

Over 700 years before it happened, Isaiah 53 described a servant who would be “pierced for our transgressions,” rejected, silent before his accusers, and buried among the wicked. Psalm 22 — written by David — opens with the exact words Jesus cried out: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And it goes on to describe mocking crowds, lots cast for clothing, hands and feet pierced.

The cross wasn’t Rome’s idea. It was woven into the story long before Rome existed.

What looked like the ultimate shame was actually the fulfillment of something ancient and beautiful — a Messiah who would bear the curse so we wouldn’t have to. ✝️

Theory 5: The resurrection was just a legend that developed later.

The legend theory says Jesus’ resurrection wasn’t a real event, but a story that gradually developed over time as it was passed on and embellished. But that raises a major question: if the resurrection message was only a legend that grew later, why do we find it proclaimed so early and so centrally in the Christian message from the very beginning? Does the legend theory really explain the resurrection accounts… or struggle to account for how early the claim appears?

Jesus isn’t just a figure of faith, He’s a figure of history. Even non-Christian historians record that He lived, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, and sparked a movement that changed the world. The question isn’t really if Jesus existed… it’s who He really was.

Theory 3: The body was stolen.

That’s one of the oldest skeptical arguments against the resurrection. But if that’s true, who took Jesus’ body — and why would the disciples suffer for something they knew was a lie? Does this theory really hold up?

Theory 2: Jesus didn’t die — He just survived.

That’s the swoon theory. But could someone who endured crucifixion really come back in a state that convinced people He had risen in victory over death? Does this theory hold up?

Theory 1: The disciples hallucinated the resurrection

That’s one of the most common skeptical arguments against the resurrection. But hallucinations are usually individual experiences — not repeated, shared events across groups. So does this theory really hold up?

Follow along as we go through some of the most common resurrection theories brought up by skeptics.
