Today a few of our members had a good little walk with an amazing group of people, raising awareness for people affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. The Marion Kennedy Team invited us along to participate and bring some extra purple colour pop to their walk with our lightsabers, we went from the plaza corner of the square through to the Te Manua Museum where the good people from Alzheimers Society Manawhatu spoke on the impact of Alzheimer's for all of the people affected by it be they the ones with troubled memory or their loved ones and friends.

Great night as always last night, a huge group of members showing up to make it a memorable one. Had a low sensory meet, duelling meet and the main meet all on the one night, teaching forms and starting our training for the end of the year with alot of fun moments throughout the night.

Something exciting is coming…
The Palmerston North Knights Lightsaber Group are teaming up with Manawatu People's Radio for something a little different.

From the training grounds to infront of the microphones, We will share our passion for lightsabers, our journey as a group, our supporters, what it means to be part of the lightsaber community and beyond!

We can't reveal too much just yet, but we're looking forward to bringing you something special.

Meet the Leaders! Part 5 : The Founders

Who would have thought that six years ago, two guys and their love of lightsabers and Starwars would come this far and impact this many people's lives.

Our two founders are who we speak of today, Matt and Gio. Neither of these two knew each other prior to their first get together, Matt had posted in the NZLG (New Zealand Lightsaber Guild) just asking around for anyone else who was available to nerd out, some guy answered the call, Gio showed up and the two hit it off. From there the two met up, created some lightsaber choreography and just hung out and the Palmerston North Knights Lightsaber Group was created. Now at over 180+ members (we stopped counting) with an average of 30-40 attending weekly meets, and more showing up to events throughout the year this is truly an amazing achievement for our two founders.

Matt has blessed many in the group with bits and pieces from his own cosplays among the many various things he has done for this group and Gio has and continues to teach us all the forms we know and love today and get us involved in local events and support our locals.

From all of us in the community we give you both a massive thank you, for starting something and giving us all a place to relax and grow on Sundays.

Meet the Leaders Part 4 : The Seniors

In Everything we do, it is always the people who stand with us that help make us more than we can become on our own.

You have met our Grand Master, you have met her two left and right hand High Council members and you have met the rest of the high council.

Today you get to meet our four Senior Leaders.

Angel, Ryan, Julian and Aby. Within our ranks we have many roles and many projects always on the go.
These four people have proven themselves time and time again as members of our group who are willing and capable of giving assistance to our entire leadership group, from taking the front at events to show members of the public what we do, assisting and creating amazing social media content and backing up our leaders at our weekly meets by greeting onlookers, assisting in training and helping the large group in all of the blindspots where our other leaders may not be able to assist at the time.

These four members have a lot on their plate helping out all over the place and they make it look easy, every group needs core strength like what our senior Leaders offer to the Palmerston North Knights.
With that the Knights thank all four of you for your hard work, commitment and dedication to the force.

We're excited to have been a part of Youthfest, bringing our lightsabers, energy, and a little Star Wars magic to the community!

At the heart of the Palmerston North Knights Lightsaber Group, it's always about more than lightsabers. It's about bringing people together, inspiring the next generation, and showing young people that there's a place for everyone in our community.

It was awesome to meet everyone, share what we do, and made some awesome memories together!

Another great meet last night, started out with the standard meet briefing with some announcements of what's to to expect coming up to the last few months of the year. warm ups and then into form 4 training and so king of the hill at the end, lots of new faces and people coming along and getting among it we hope to see more of you attending as we move forward.
