Kia ora Manawatū–Whanganui! 🌿
We’re Akeake a small, whānau centred day support service for adults and school leavers living with disabilities, right here in our region. Our kaupapa is simple: meaningful days.
That means real days out in the community | cafés, swimming, museums, markets, volunteering, beach trips and big adventures. Planned around each person’s interests and goals, never just filling in time.
What we offer:
🚐 Weekday Community Programme (Mon–Fri) — a themed day out every day: Connect, Move, Explore, Participate, Socialise
🌊 Saturday Social Adventures every fortnight — Himatangi, Wellington Zoo, Te Papa and more
🏡 Genuine respite for whānau — reliable time back, knowing your person is safe and having a genuinely good day
🚌 Door-to-door transport included in every single day
We’re deliberately small, just 10-12 regular participants, so every person is genuinely known. Grounded in Manawhaikaha principles and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
It all starts with a free one hour meet & greet — let’s have a cuppa and kōrero, no obligation.
