A reminder to everyone that nominations for the Board to be elected at the AGM next month, close on May 31st. This will be our first AGM under our newly registered constitution. As such there have been some positions disestablished, and the number of executive members reduced to 9 in total. We have a lot of exciting things happening within the club, and lots of plans and ambitions to carry the club forward as we head into our 90th Jubilee year. But we must make sure that we continue to have strong representation and support within the ranks of our Board - so I encourage you all to give thought to making yourselves available if you believe you have new ideas and the desire to be part of our club’s future direction.
Nominations received to date are:
President: Paul Skilton
Vice-President: Peter Harris (Life Member)
Treasurer: Bruce Dilks (Life Member)
Secretary: Jo Gibbs
Club Captain: John Adams
Executive (4 required): Graham Bilton, Jane Ross, Glenis Mobberley, Steve Hodges.
Match/Tournament Committee (3 Men/3 Women):
Paul Skilton
We still require nominations for several members of the match committee.
In the event there are more nominations than positions to be filled, then a vote of members attending the AGM will be held to elect the board or committee members that the meeting chooses - so anyone can still stand for any position (vacant or not). If anyone wants any more information about what being on our board involves, or what the job descriptions are of any positions, then feel free to get in touch with Jo Gibbs or Paul Skilton and they will be happy to help. After May 31st nominations will be closed, and only vacant positions will have nominations from the floor at the AGM.
Any club is only as good as its members, so if you believe you can help - we’d love to have you on ‘board’!
