🚧 ⚠️ On Friday, we had a great session with Georgina Morrison of Explore Pahiatua to discuss local civil defence plans from a business perspective. ⚠️ 🚧
Whilst this is a very broad topic, we looked at the types of emergencies which might affect local businesses, which businesses hold essential supplies which may be required in an emergency response, and how each business can look at continuity planning by assessing their own risks.
The current Pahiatua civil defence plan and a quick questionnaire will be emailed out to all participants this coming week.
This workshop is just the first of many conversations planned for the future to strengthen our local civil defence response and ensure we build resilience as a community for not if, but when, a local emergency of a significant scale occurs.

A huge congratulations to the winners of the Business Christmas Window & Display Competition, as announced at Explore Christmas on Saturday! 👏👏👏
🥇 1st Place - Thicket
🥈 2nd Place - Tararua Community Services
🥉 3rd Place - Mitre 10 Pahiatua
Our wonderful judges - Amy Begg, Nicole McHardy and Terri Waerea - felt that these businesses presented the most creative displays which were most true to the theme of 'Traditional European Christmas'.
Certificates and prizes will be delivered to our winners tomorrow.

Last Thursday night, we were excited to host our third annual PDBG Social Quiz! With a total of 9 teams there was fierce competition but the ladies from New World Pahiatua and their team "No Eye Dear" took out the top spot with a clear lead of 49 points. With 5 rounds and a team building exercise - build the tallest tower out of only dried spaghetti and marshmallows - there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. This quiz night is not a fundraiser, but more focused on team building and networking. The entry fee covers costs ... well nearly anyway. Thanks to everyone who came along, it was fantastic night out!
