So I did it!
I did five minutes three times now, and I did six last night, and I plan to do ten minutes!

Hi! I've been practicing doing the plank.

My overall goal is to do it for five minutes.

Yesterday I decided to work towards this five minutes goal.

I asked Mum and Simon how long they thought I could do it for. Mum said 1 minute and Simon said ten seconds!

It turned out I could do it for two minutes without much practice at all!

I hadn't done it in ages so I was very suprised!

Today I did three minutes.

How long do you think it will take for me to able to do five minutes? Do you think I can make my goal?

~ And two on the CHAMPIONS table😍! For Best Collarette in the whole show, Best Vase in the Novice section, and Best Bloom in the Novice section!

Tomorrow we're going down to Hawera to go to the National Daliah Show🪻!

We will have a stall down there too!

It will be our last show there before we move the to the South Island!

Hopefully the dahlias will last the car ride and don't get burned by the heat of the car😬!

But I think they will survive.

Yesterday, I collected about 30 chrysalises from the weeds under the swan plants and took them to my friend as a present.

I stapled them onto a piece of wood.

Then I had lunch.

And when I went to take them to my friend, four had already hatched!

I had to carry those ones to her on my fingers!

Now they have a nice dry place to hatch and a nice friendly new mummy to look after them!

A BOOK THAT CHANGED THE WAY I SEE BUSINESS (and Life!)

The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau completely flipped my perspective on starting something new.

It showed me that you don’t need a perfect plan, a huge budget, or all the answers—just creativity, action, and a willingness to figure things out as you go.

THE STORY BEHIND OUR FIRST BOOK – And How It Brought My Family Closer ❤️

When I first started writing The Dahlia Kids, I thought it was just going to be my thing.

A little creative escape.

A dream I was finally making real.

But then… something unexpected happened.

My kids noticed what I was doing—and they wanted in.

Suddenly, we were throwing around ideas together, remembering old stories, and laughing over the tiniest details and the cutest pictures.

They asked questions, shared their own thoughts, started research and writing their own chapters, and before I knew it… it wasn’t just MY book anymore.

It was OURS.

We talked about the fun times, the tough ones, and everything in between.

And through it all, we learned something huge—storytelling isn’t just about words on a page.

It’s about the connections you make along the way. 💛

Looking back, that was the real magic.

Not just finishing a book—but the moments we shared while creating it.

And it got me thinking...

Sometimes, chasing a dream isn’t just about you.

It’s about the people who come along for the ride.
