t. I am going to do my PhD in Māori and English their is also going to be a practical component. Reconstructing the physical/sustainable model of traditional whare wānanga for the purpose of rediscovering the elemental abilities of the Tōhunga Ahurewa. The Reconstruction of this particular whare wānanga is reinvigorating the spiritual power of the Tohunga Ahurewa. To also create a self sustained community ie power, food and water, with the whare wānanga being that heart of this self sustained community. A self governing system removed from the current system as an alternative option. Tumurangiwhenua is an Institute of Excellence in Indigenous Intuitive Knowledge. Exploring Indigenous Consciousness through Intuitive Knowledge. Tumurangiwhenua, is my PHD study. Its evolves contemplating new expressions of Wānanga Taketake [ traditional Whare Wānanga] for the purpose of developing Te Ahurewatanga or the intuitive knowledge of Tohunga Ahurewa. It is in very early stages. Hence, the reason my Masters thesis was on "...Tohunga Ahurewa in the Natural World..." My masters thesis contemplated the idea and explored the hypothesis that the myths, legends, and fables of the ancient Tohunga Ahurewa are real. So I started with Tohunga Ahurewa in the Natural World knowing that the next authentic progression was going to be " Traditional Whare Wānanga in a Modern World. IMAGINE

The core "Wānanga Taketake" is Tumurangiwhenua which represents the sacred tree of all life from a Māori perspective. Different branches that are apart of "Te Whare Wānanga o Tumurangiwhenua are Te Mata o Ngā Rākau - Ngāti Awa Warrior Training School, Toi Wānanga - Conscious Expressions of the Soul and Te Wānanga Taketake o Te Ramaapakura which is a tribal institute that I am helping to develop with Te Tāwera Hapū Tribal Nation, a nation within the Ngāti Awa and Mātaatua Confederation of Tribal Nations. This Institute of Excellence forges its origins in the ancient Māori and indigenous (Lakota) wisdom and knowledge. We are literally converging all times space and reality into this present moment to realise our full potential. There is overwhelming evidence that ancient wisdom (maramatanga) in a modern context is what we are craving for more now then at any other time of our existence. This institute of excellence exists outside of the current system and stand in it's own power not to be influenced by external forces. It is an institute that is concerned with harnessing and developing the Mana (power) and Mauri (life-force) and unlimited creative potential of its participates. It provides windows of opportunities for it's participates to experience their own personal power through Tūpuna Mātauranga (Applied Ancestral Wisdom and Knowledge). Te Wānanga Taketake o Tumurangiwhenua (an institute of excellent in indigenous wisdom and consciousness) is a group at this point and time for people who are at a point of "deciding" wether or not they want to take the next level in terms of the ancient "Whare Wānanga" and make a life commitment to the sacred esoteric knowledge of the higher school of learning. So before we proceed people have to discuss and communicate what there commitment levels are even before we begin. Those people that dedicate them selfs to the "Kawa o Te Whare Wānanga" or the Sacred Lore of the Higher School of learning must come into the school with their entire family, their significant partner also. This is a total balanced approach of "Te Ira Tāne" (masculine) and "Te Ira Wahine" (feminine). Its the only true way to find real balance and real spirituality. The complimentary role of "tāne" (male) & "wahine" (female).
