🇹🇭🇳🇿 Thailand and New Zealand elevate relations to a Strategic Partnership as we mark 70 years of diplomatic relations.
Thailand and New Zealand have officially elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership, with an ambitious goal to triple bilateral trade to US$7.5 billion by 2045.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon also witnessed the signing of four cooperation documents covering culture, civil service development, policing and private-sector collaboration.
Connectivity between our two countries is also set to strengthen, with Thai Airways preparing to resume direct Bangkok–Auckland flights in March 2027, supporting tourism, trade, investment, education and people-to-people exchanges.
New Zealand has also expressed support for Thailand’s path towards OECD membership.
New Zealand–Thailand Business Association (NZTBA) had the opportunity to engage with the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet on how the business community can support the goal of expanding bilateral trade and investment, and help translate this Strategic Partnership into practical business opportunities.
NZTBA looks forward to continuing to work with government and the private sector in both countries to strengthen business connections, facilitate investment and create new opportunities between Thailand and New Zealand.
