Glenfield Girls' Brigade

Girl’s Brigade is an international Christian youth organisations that provide children a safe environment to try new activities and make friends.

Girl’s Brigade and Boys’ Brigade are international Christian youth organisations. Open to youth aged 5-18years. These groups are separately run organisations both aiming to encourage young people to fulfill their potential through learning new skills and a fun filled weekly programme. Girls’ Brigade first began in Ireland in 1893 and is now run in 59 countries worldwide. Our mission statement is “To empower girls to succeed in tomorrows world”
Groups meet weekly offering girl’s opportunities to grow friendships, share experiences and gain new skills. Contact details for Girls’ Brigade groups on the North Shore:

Birkenhead
Meets at: Zion Hill Methodist Church, Cnr Onewa Rd and Birkenhead Ave
Wednesdays from 4.30-6pm

Boys’ Brigade first began in 1883 in Scotland and is now run in 60 countries worldwide. Our mission statement is “To facilitate the development of constructive, resilient, innovative young leaders and responsible citizens”
Groups meet weekly, Boys' Brigade life coaches young people by providing positive role models who lead fun filled, weekly activities within a balanced programme that is both skills and values based. Contact details for Boys’ Brigade groups on the North Shore:

Tonight was our last night for Term 3 which means badge time!!! Our girls this term were awarded their poker working and suncatcher badges and we had 4 girls join this term who were also presented with their sashes.

Happy Father's Day to all our Dad's!
We hope you were spoiled today.

Over the last few weeks we have been learning how to do poker work and made coasters for our dads. We also thought Dad deserved a sweet treat so we made him some lolly cake treats.

Usually we present awards at the end of the term but last week we had a special award presentation for one of our leaders Michelle who has completed 15 years of service as a Girls' Brigade leader!!!

We are kicking off or term 3 programme this Monday afternoon.

We finished off Term 2 with a friends night.
It was great to have so many friends invited to join us for the afternoon.

We made flower lei's and coconut ice as we have been learning about our Girls' Brigade neighbors in the Pacific Islands.

We started off Term 2 with a bubbly theme creating our own soaps and other bath related things:
🫧 Bath bombs
🫧 Bath salts
🫧 Jelly soaps
🫧 Moulded soaps
🫧 Bubble bath playdough

I think these were our cleanest and at the same time messiest activities this year 😂

We started of the term commemorating ANZAC Day, making ANZAC biscuits and each girl made a wreath to take along to services today.
