Mīharo te mahi o ngā roopu katoa mo tēnei kaupapa!

It was very special for Ruru to help with the beginning of the restoration of the wetland at Waioratoki/ Centennial reserve. Alongside Ngati Tairi, Te Ara Taiao, NPDC and Te Ihowai we planted hundreds of trees this morning. Hot, hard mahi that will pay off for generations to come.

Te Ara Taiao was excited and humbled to be able to provide an opportunity to stay at Te Niho o Te Atiawa at Parihaka pā during the school holidays.

A mixed group of our Ngā Manu Pīkoko rangatahi across the schools we work in, and their whānau, participated in lots of fun activities. Tamariki built traps, planted native trees, played kēmu and more.

A huge thanks to Dr Emily Roberts and Chauncey Ardell for coming along and sharing your amazing knowledge and passion with us. Tau ke!!!

This was the first noho marae planned for the year, with 2 more to come, there may be an opportunity for your tamariki to be part of one too!
