Sometimes, Spring Clean Whakatū Nelson included people just out the city centre. Like in Toi Toi, where a group of local residents have been clearing along the banks of a stream alongside Emano St. Gotta love those little legs holding the heart sign - such enthusiastic helpers!

And along Waimea Rd, teams from Spa World NZ Nelson Support Office and Nimbus Software Ltd, and property owner Hermann Seifried joined forces to spring clean 203A Waimea Road, Bishopdale. There was pressure washing, repairing and painting the fence between the businesses and Caltex NZ, as well as pressure washing and painting the planters at the offices' entrances. Nice work!

Well, that was a pretty amazing week with the Spring Clean Whakatū Nelson campaign, and the best part is that we all get to reap the benefits for months and months to come.

A big shout out to Councillor Aaron Stallard, CE Nigel Philpott and staff at Nelson City Council for stepping away from their keyboards on a Friday afternoon, and taking up the mops and buckets to give the bike stands on Trafalgar St and in Wakatū Square a clean and shine. So great!

More smiling faces - this time outside . That's Anika, Marina and Maria, with big help from our littlest gardener so far!

Magenta has made a big splash in their new home on Selwyn Place - so bright and light. Magenta is an art-studio space, offering a safe, accepting and pressure-free environment for people who have lived experience of mental distress.

Plus, they have a shop - it's well worth a visit. So great.

More mini gardens, and this one has lots of edibles (in another month or so). HUGE thanks to RMM Landscape Architects for pitching in and taking over the garden on Halifax St, by the old petrol station.

We so impressed with these little transformations happening across the city, and can't wait to see what they look like once the plants are established.

Nice work, team!

It was a great day yesterday at Nikau Hauora Hub on Selwyn Place. After some waterblasting on Tuesday, there was cleaning out the garden, prepping the vege patch and sanding back the table. Still to come - the table will get a multicolour makeover, and the windows will be cleaned and decorated with artworks. The building owner has come on board to give the building exterior a wash, and repaint the windows frames.

And yep, that's Nelson City Council councillor Matty Anderson getting stuck into the garden!

It was great to meet the team at Nikau, and learn a little bit about their services - they offer peer and community support, assistance with services and agencies to cover physical health and wellbeing needs, housing, and access to eligible services including benefit entitlements, training and education, employment and wider social supports.

You might be referred to the Hub or you can come to visit us yourself. The place has got a fantastic welcoming vibe.

Montgomery Carpark Part 1! We had Ana and her team from Open Home Ready cleaning the walls of the old Briscoes building, and holy moly - do they know how to clean!

Please note that we're being super careful with all the cleaning products that we're using, and making sure that nothing runs into the drains.

Stay tuned for what's happening next on these lovely clean walls!
