Here’s our final, unnamed furry friend from VP this afternoon.
We couldn’t tell if this little chap had just taken a bath, a swim in the lake or just got wet in the rain! But he certainly has the fluffiest coat we’ve ever seen in Boggart Wood! Some may even call him scruffy!
Actually, we think we may have disturbed his ablutions since he was busy doing something intricate with his little paws, as he held no nuts! He also looked a little bit shocked when he spotted us watching him!
Perhaps he was washing his hands ready for his tea, we thought, so we crept away quietly to preserve his privacy and let him get on with it!
Should we name him Scruff then? What do you think?

Let me introduce this young lady from today’s visit to VP.
She is quite small and timid and we thought we may have woken her up, as she looked quite sleepy! She managed to make it to a nearby bench where she quickly found a tasty
morsel to nibble on for breakfast! Last we saw, she was having a good wash to spruce herself up for the day! So ladylike! A real ‘sleepy’ beauty we think - maybe her name is Aurora! What do you think?

And here is today’s furry friend from Boggart Wood! This lovely chappie was very tame, and more to the point, nosey: he sat and kept watch as we watched him! A definite look of intelligence in his eyes, we wondered if he was on look out duty for all the others. Once he realised we weren’t a threat, he hopped away happily!
So perhaps he could be an angelic Enoch, (to be biblical) or Francis (as in Walsingham, to be historical) or perhaps you might like to suggest another, more apt name ?

We spotted this mother today rushing through Boggart Wood! We had a feeling she’d just been to Morrison’s to get what she needed to make tea tonight!
She gave us the impression she was running late, as she didn’t stop to chat, but scurried up to the top of a tree as fast as she could!
And we know she definitely didn’t hang about doing her chores, because as we were still stood there looking up, bits of Walnut shell were flicked onto us! What a busy lady!
Probably a good cook like Mary Berry!

Another cuddly furry pal from Boggart Wood.
We watched this little lady for quite some time and there’s no doubt she has had some ballet training! She is incredibly agile but also strong and fast! In fact we are expecting to see her in the title role of that old Christmas chestnut, ( or walnut!?) The Nutcracker! We’d certainly buy tickets!

Does that mean she’s a ‘Margo’ or ‘Clara’ or have you other suggestions for her ?

Here is our second furry friend you may happen across in Boggart Wood. This little chap is always busy building and repairing his drey - obviously, he has a large family to cater for, and he’s already getting ready for winter!
Very much a family man - caring, organised and exceedingly smart!

We’re sure you’d like to look out for him next time you’re in VP, but what shall we name him?

Phenology? What’s that then?

Let’s meet a resident of our Boggart Wood!
This little lady is very industrious indeed, and can be found spending quite a bit of every day foraging for food for herself and her little ‘uns!
She is fairly timid, but will happily reach out to visitors offering her a take away meal, which she gratefully receives before quickly scampering up a tree to share at home!
So far, we haven’t named her.
Any suggestions for a suitable name for this beauty?
