Improve your trapping skills! Join Go Eco and Predator Free Te Aroha at the Tui Park Bowling Club in Te Aroha on April 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM (NZST) for a practical, hands-on session covering lures, trap maintenance, predator behaviour and so much more. A great chance to get those burning trapping questions answered by an expert!

Whether you're just starting out at trapping or an experienced campainer, this workshop will cater to all. Help us bring the bird song back to Te Aroha!

Our new name and logo have landed!

The new name, Sustainable Matamata, has formally replaced Transition Matamata to more fully express our aspirations. Our purposes remain (in brief): to educate and work hands-on towards reducing our communities' impact on the environment. The committee extends its grateful thanks to Thierry Vandeputte (the artist father of our secretary, Fiona Vandeputte), who created our new logo in various shapes and sizes. We are now only waiting for Facebook to process our name change, which seems to be taking a while!

The Sustainability Fun Day subcommittee will discuss ideas for a formal, but lighthearted, launch of the new name on the Fun Day next March. If you have ideas or wish to volunteer your time for the Sustainability Fun Day, please feel free to join us at the next meeting, which will be held at The Merchant of Matamata this Thursday at 6:30 pm.
