Te Pā Hau Ora o Wairarapa

Te Pā Hau Ora o Wairarapa Our focus is the total well being of tangata (the people) and whanau (family). Our service is Kaupapa Maori, however we welcome all ethnic groups.

This is achieved through the delivery of Kaupapa Maori Health and Support services.

Mental Health Awareness Week | Taha Whānau

Next up is taha whānau — our whānau and relationships.

Taha whānau is about the people who support us, uplift us, challenge us, laugh with us and stand beside us through the ups and downs.

Whānau can be our parents, tamariki, partners, siblings, kaumātua, friends, chosen whānau, or the people who simply make us feel like we belong.

Sometimes looking after our taha whānau is as simple as sitting down for a kai, checking in with someone, sharing a kōrero, making time to be together, or being there when someone needs us.

So, what do you do to look after your taha whānau?

Mental Health Awareness Week | Taha Tinana

Next up is taha tinana — our physical wellbeing.

Looking after our tinana is more than just exercise. It’s about listening to our bodies, getting enough rest, nourishing ourselves, moving in ways that feel good, and giving ourselves time to slow down when we need to.

Sometimes looking after our tinana can be as simple as getting outside, going for a walk, sharing kai with whānau, having a good kōrero, or taking a moment to breathe and reset.

What do you do to look after your taha tinana?

Mental Health Awareness Week | Taha Wairua

Next up is taha wairua, our spiritual wellbeing.

Taha wairua can look different for everyone. It might be found through whakapapa, whenua, karakia, mātauranga, connection to our tūpuna, time in nature, or simply taking a moment to reconnect with what gives us purpose and meaning.

What do you do to look after your taha wairua?

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental wellbeing is everyone’s business. This week we acknowledge the strength of whānau, the mana of kōrero, and the importance of looking after our hinengaro every day, not just this week.

Kia kaha te tiaki i a tātou anō.

Over the next few days, our team will be sharing the different taha of Te Whare Tapa Whā and the ways we nurture and support our wellbeing in everyday life.

We’d love to hear from you too. What do you do to look after your taha hinengaro?

Share your whakaaro in the comments. 💬

Our team had the privilege of spending time at the Community Centre, cooking and preparing meals for whānau.

It was a meaningful reminder that caring for our community goes beyond our everyday roles. It is about showing up with aroha, manaaki, and a willingness to support one another in practical ways.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute, connect, and give back to our community.
