Kia ora and warm greetings to everyone doing incredible mahi for refugee communities across Aotearoa.
The Refugee Women’s Council of New Zealand was initiated in 2020 by passionate young women from former refugee backgrounds.
After navigating the challenges of COVID-19 and global humanitarian crises, we are back, more strategic, focused and ready to build a strong foundation.
We are seeking wāhine leaders from refugee and forcibly displaced backgrounds, as well as academics, researchers, professionals and allies with experience across our five pillars.
We are also seeking one woman from each refugee-background ethnic community across Aotearoa to join our Ethnic Women’s Caucus and help shape our national work.
Join our mahi, make a difference and build meaningful friendships.
Ready to roll up your sleeves? Please send us a private message—coffee is on us! ☕

Dear ladies,

As we celebrate Matariki, may we each find a clear sense of purpose and direction for ourselves, and may the Refugee Women's Council of New Zealand continue to grow with many more sisters involved.

Happy Matariki, my sisters and dear friends. Wishing you and your whānau a joyful and blessed year ahead.
