Ethnic Women in Politics

What does true representation mean?

How do we ensure our voices genuinely matter in shaping New Zealand politics and policy?

Who are our allies in this journey of influence and change?

When it comes to community connection, how much of the community’s voice can one advocate carry forward?

Powerful kōrero on “Austerity” today.

Austerity isn’t just economic policy — it’s a political choice that serves capitalism and further marginalizes working-class and displaced communities.

As government budgets face “The Cut,” we must ask:
How much have we been distracted by rising fascism, while equity is quietly stripped away?

The Refugee Women’s Council of New Zealand proudly joined the discussion and asked the panel:
"How can we build bridges between refugee communities and activist communities to co-create a more just and united Aotearoa?"

Huge thanks to the Fabian Society for hosting such a vital and timely kōrero.

Let’s move together — not apart.

📢 Important Update for Resettled Communities!

On Thursday, 28th November 2024, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will share key updates on resettlement priorities and timelines for Auckland's resettled communities. This meeting is part of INZ's commitment to keeping refugee background communities informed in all 13 settlement cities.

ARCC is reaching out to notify and encourage our communities to attend. If any community groups require interpreters, please inform us early with the specific languages needed. This helps us secure language services in advance.
