🌿 Maheno Hall Heating Project Update 🌿

We’re on our way! Thanks to the incredible support from our community and sponsors, we’ve raised $11,000 towards our $20,000 goal 🎉

This poster shows just how far we’ve come — and how close we are to upgrading Maheno Hall’s heating to something far more efficient and practical. Our current system is outdated, expensive to run, and difficult to manage, which is why we’re working hard to install modern heat pumps that will make the hall easier and more affordable to run.

Officially reregistered. Weeehoooo. Lots of work creating our constitution and making sure what we put in place now, serves our community in many years to come. These things don't just happen and without them we cannot operate, so a BIG THANKS to our committee for all the work involved getting this over the line.

Our outdoor bench at the hall has had a fantastic refresh and is looking better than ever — sturdy, smooth, and ready for a well-earned rest. Whether you’re waiting, chatting, or just soaking up a quiet moment, it’s the perfect spot to pause.

A huge thank you to Nigel for his incredible generosity — supplying the materials and putting in the time and effort to get it done. We’re so lucky to have people like you in our community 💛

🤩Huge shout out to Waitaki District Council!!!!! 🤩 We were among the recipients of their community grants fund! We appreciate their support so much, they have helped us purchase 12 EPIC NEW TRESTLE TABLES!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 these are fabulous, user friendly and commercial grade!!
As the sticker says on the box “One table can change your life!” We have 12!! Let’s see how many of our community lives we can change by having a place to get together and have a seat at our table! 😍😍😍😍

A MASSIVE thank you to Paul and Skye Botha for all their hard work water blasting the Maheno courts, getting them ready for Maheno Junior Netball practises.
They have spent DAYS at the courts and we really appreciate the time and effort they have put in to make the courts safe this season.

Resurfacing the courts is one of our fundraising priorities as we work to make this space more usable for the community.

The Hall looked like a picture over the Maheno School 150th Jubilee weekend.
Many people helped transform it from a school assembly full of people during the day to drinks and nibbles Friday night and then to a beautiful space to seat 150 people for lunch on Saturday.

Special thanks to all involved to make it such a memorial weekend.
