Hospice Mid-Northland

Hospice Mid-Northland Ph 09 407 7799. [email protected] Care and support to those facing a life-limiting illness and to their family/whanau.

Hospice Mid-Northland is an incorporated society registered under the Charities Act 2005 and is partly funded by the Government, with the remainder sourced from donations and fundraising. We cover the area from Towai in the south to Taupo Bay in the north, and coast-to-coast in between, including South Hokianga. In the earlier days, we supported small numbers of families and this has risen to over

220 families annually since 2018. We have four retail stores, please donate to us. Donations can be dropped at the Green Shed @ 464 Kerikeri Road or we can pick up furniture to sell in our Furniture Shop.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Arvida Te Puna Waiora, who raised an incredible $2,000 for Hospice Mid-Northland through their social team.

Support like this means so much to us. Every dollar helps us continue providing free specialist palliative care and support for people and whānau across Mid-Northland.

Local generosity makes a real difference, and we are so grateful to have wonderful community-minded organisations like Arvida Te Puna Waiora standing alongside Hospice.

Ngā mihi nui from all of us at Hospice Mid-Northland.

💜 National Volunteer Week | Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu 💜

This week we celebrate and thank the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, skills, and heart to Hospice Mid-Northland.

From our shops and events, to driving, administration, practical support, fundraising, governance, and so much more - our volunteers are part of the heart of hospice.

Without you, we simply could not continue providing free specialist palliative care across Mid Northland.

Your kindness helps make sure people and their whānau are supported with dignity, compassion, and care when they need it most.

To every Hospice Mid-Northland volunteer: thank you. We see you, we value you, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.

This National Volunteer Week, we honour you. 💜

A big thank you to Cake In The Box for kindly donating tomorrow’s box of goodies to our Hospice Mid-Northland team.

What a lovely gesture, and such a nice way to recognise the work our team does in the community. We really appreciate your support. 😊

The business drawn today hasn't followed our page, unfortunately, which means we can't tag them. As a tag is required for a win, we'll donate tomorrow's box of goodies to Hospice Mid-Northland team in gratitude for their hard work. Hospice Mid-Northland
If someone from Hospice can pop down after 9.30am to collect the goodies for your team that would be amazing :)

A huge thank you to Matt and the team at Northland CCTV for generously installing a separate alarm system for our newly renovated Cottage at no charge to Hospice Mid-Northland.

This means the Cottage can now be armed and disarmed separately from our main building, giving us much more flexibility to open the space for wider community use and expand the services and support we can offer.

Matt also offered to have his electrician look at our lighting while onsite, again at no charge if it is a simple fix.

Support like this makes a real difference. It helps us make better use of the spaces we already have, while keeping them safe, secure, and accessible for our community.

Thank you, Northland CCTV, for backing Hospice and supporting the work we do across Mid-Northland.

Introducing the 500 Club.

The 500 Club is a new way for local people to stand behind Hospice Mid-Northland and help secure the future of hospice care in our community.

Members commit to supporting hospice with a contribution of $500 per year over five years, helping provide compassionate care for local patients and whānau when it matters most.

As a 500 Club member, supporters will also receive:
• Recognition on our website
• Invitations to events
• AGM access
• Early event ticket opportunities
• Access to exclusive supporter evenings
• Five for Care supporter benefits

Most importantly, members become part of a group of local people helping ensure hospice care remains available and free for families across Mid-Northland.

Wrap Around Love.

This Hospice Awareness Week, we’re sharing the full Wrap Around Love story and the people behind it.

Hospice care wraps around patients and whānau with compassion, dignity, support, and care through some of life’s most difficult moments.

Hospice care is free for families, but only partly funded, which means support from our community matters more than ever.

Because every moment matters.

A huge thank you to Cake In The Box and Kindred Spirits for helping us celebrate International Nurses Day during Hospice Awareness Week.

Last night, our team came together for cocktails, canapés, sweet treats, and a chance to recognise the incredible work our hospice staff do every day across Mid-Northland.

Thank you to Cake in the Box for the amazing selection of treats and catering support, and to Ben from Kindred Spirits for generously helping create a special evening for our team.

If you’re looking for catering, platters, sweet treats, or savoury options for your workplace, event, meeting, or celebration, we highly recommend Cake in the Box. Their selection was fantastic, with gluten free and keto-friendly options available as well.

And if you want to make your next event extra special, Ben from Kindred Spirits does an incredible job creating cocktails and experiences that bring people together in a really relaxed and memorable way.

We truly appreciate local businesses getting behind hospice and supporting the people who care for our community when it matters most.
