Bird flu has been detected in New Zealand. If you see three or more sick or dead birds while walking along the coastline, call the MPI hotline immediately on 0800 80 99 66. Please provide as much detail as possible, including the exact location or GPS coordinates, species, numbers affected, and a photo if safe to take. Do not handle or move any birds. Keep dogs on a lead to reduce the risk of transmission if they come across dead or sick birds.
