Otatara Kinikฤtene is at the heart of our local community.
At our kindergarten, you will see kaiako, tamariki and whฤnau work collaboratively in positive and authentic ways. Whanaungatanga drives our curriculum design, as kaiako and whฤnau come together for positive outcomes for their tamariki.
You will feel calm in the mindful atmosphere we have created to support unhurried learning and exploration where tamariki can connect with their mind, body and emotions. Tamariki are empowered to take care of their place and the people and things within it, with respect and kindness.
You will hear te reo mฤori spoken with respectful conversations. You will notice our strong connection to kaitiakitanga and environmentally friendly and sustainable practices which help educate and grow the ecological identity of our tamariki.
Our eldest 10 tamariki are enriched in our outdoor nature programme in our backyard, the Otatara Scenic Reserve, which runs fortnightly on Wednesday mornings.
Our transition to kura is effortless with our local kura just next door. We do jump jam, kapahaka, and many different other activities with the school as they arise. We also go to the kura library every Rฤtu, Tuesday morning.
Nau mai haere mai, we warmly welcome you to come and experience our place. To see, hear and feel the teaching and learning in action and discover if this will be your place too.
