❤️ A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU Southern Aussie Muscle car club!
The Southland Charity Hospital would like to say an enormous thank you to the Southern Aussie Muscle Car Club and everyone who supported their incredible 2026 Poker Run.
What an amazing day, 25 cars, around 130 people, plenty of V8s, a huge amount of generosity, and $5,000 raised for the Southland Charity Hospital. 🚗❤️
The Poker Run itself raised an incredible $4,676 through poker hands, scratchie boards, silent auctions and donations. The Club then generously decided to top that amount up to $5,000.
We are incredibly grateful.
For me personally, this was a particularly special day. To spend my birthday surrounded by such a wonderful group of people, while remembering Blair and supporting the hospital created in his memory, meant more than I can say.
One of my favourite moments was choosing one of Blair’s favourite types of Aussie muscle cars and presenting the owner with a Blair Vining shirt. Congratulations to Murray Nichol I know Blair would have absolutely loved seeing all those cars lined up and hearing those V8s rumbling through Southland. ❤️
But what made the day so special wasn’t only the fundraising. It was seeing communities come together people making new friends, catching up with old ones, local pubs and businesses getting behind the event, and everyone simply having a fantastic time for a cause that continues to mean so much to our family and our community.
To the Southern Aussie Muscle Car Club committee, the volunteers, sponsors, businesses and pubs along the route Croydon Lodge Public Bar, Riversdale Lodge, Lumsden, Mossburn and Winton Garden Bar and every single person who entered, donated, bid, bought a scratchie or helped make the day happen: thank you.
Every dollar raised helps us continue Blair’s legacy and the work of the Southland Charity Hospital helping people in our community access care when they need it.
$5,000 is an extraordinary contribution, but just as important is the support and love behind it.
