Halswell Quarry parkrun event 103
How good was it today at our beautiful parkrun by the big slab of rock πͺ¨.
The vibes were on point. So much positive energy. First timers. Tourists from far and wide and in between. And the best vol crew in town.
What a day we had celebrating parkruns 22nd birthday π₯³π
Commit to complete was the battle cry from one of our participants. I think that sums up our course perfectly. It never gets easier but hearing from one of our first timers today. He absolutely loved it and that's all we hope for. We know it's not a fast course but it's real. It's tough. It takes grit to get up the hill and skill to get down it. We love our course and we love seeing you each week turn up to tackle the terrain our course offers.
And the best thing is we get to do it all again next week!

This week is about us and how far we have come as a parkrun and on Saturday lets bring the colour π πβ€οΈ π π 𧑠π π€ π€ π©Άπ©·π€ π©΅. All colours are acceptable. Come as you are. Bring a tutu if you want or not if it's not your thing. We just want you all to have an engaging experience at Halswell Quarry parkrun. It's what you make it. This week we are going to make it so much fun. The volunteer roster is already super loaded. The team is ready to deliver you a super special event. I just know it.
So the brief is simple. Bring yourselves. Some colourful running attire and your barcode. I'm sure I can rustle up something to go with the blue and white vest π€ .
The parkrun app is super handy for finding your barcode when it comes to scanning at the finish line also. Download it if you haven't already. Makes the scanning process super speedy. The qr code works really good for the barcode scanning crew.

What a day to do it.
So many personal bests today too. You guys and girls were flying around our loop today. Check out the photos to see the proof πΈ. So many good photos. Lots of flying feet and happy barkrunners πΆ.
Like I said at briefing running a personal best is cool. Bringing your personal best to parkrun is what makes days like today so parkfun. You guys definitely bought the energy to parkrun this morning π. Days like today make volunteering so easy and super rewarding. It takes a village. Today the village worked so well together. Teamwork makes the dream work. Today the parkrun just hummed beautifully. You should all be super proud of your efforts today. Really was a super day for running on what was a cooler windless spring day. Was so still for most of the event. So good. Just perfect running conditions. Was definitely more breezy when I got out for a run later.
Thank you so much to all who ran, walked and volunteered today.
I can't wait for next week. There will be cake. There will be colour and providing the mail gets through the run director will have some new styley threads to display for all to see π©΅.
