The Trusts are working to bring world-class international tennis to The West for the very first time! 🎾

New Zealand takes on Japan in the legendary Davis Cup at The Trusts Arena in Henderson on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, and we're proud announce that we are an official sponsor!

We're working alongside to make sure our community is right at the heart of the action. That means discounted youth tickets so whānau can come along together, a Community Engagement Day on Tuesday 15 September where local school kids and club players get to step onto the court with the pros, and paid training for local rangatahi to work as ball kids and event volunteers.

👏🏿👏🏼👏🏽 Choice times for our rangatahi

What a way to spend an afternoon in The West! More than 200 rangatahi hit the streets from New Lynn Memorial Square all the way to Henderson for Zeal's Whau to Hendo Photo Scavenger Hunt. Teams tackled creative challenges, snapped photos, explored their local spaces, and had a blast at activations along the route, all wrapped up with kai, music and prizegiving at Zeal West Auckland.

Held during Matariki, the event gave young people the chance to connect, reflect and celebrate the communities they call home. Huge thanks to the Zeal West team for the incredible mahi they do for our rangatahi. We're proud to back this kaupapa through our Your West Support Fund 2026.

Kia kaha, kia manawanui, to all our effected kaimahi 🙏🏼

Bricklane remains temporarily closed following an armed robbery at the venue yesterday which threatened the safety of our staff and customers.

Our team's wellbeing is our immediate priority and we are giving them the time and support they need. We are grateful that no one was physically injured.

We are working with Police and will reopen when it is the right time to do so. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Lights, camera, community!

Glass Ceiling Arts Collective delivers inclusive performing arts classes for people from marginalised communities, particularly young people with disabilities. Their weekly classes in Massey (theatre), New Lynn (singing) and Kelston (dance) bring together participants with and without disabilities, alongside siblings and peers, to create together.

Through the 2026 Your West Support Fund round, Glass Ceiling received $20,000 to help deliver these classes across the region. That work culminates each year in a full public production, and this year the cast of 26 performers aged 12 to 31 is preparing to stage Beauty and the Beast Junior at Glen Eden Playhouse Theatre from 3 to 5 September.

'The whole cast is super-excited and busy learning lines and songs,' says Production Manager Briar Elliott.

What a fantastic day judging the Robo cup regional competition at Glen Eden intermediate on Sunday.

Portage Licensing Trust was proud to help sponsor the event, and I was stoked to be there as a judge. My day job is in tech, so seeing tamariki and rangatahi designing, problem-solving, coding, presenting, competing, and backing themselves was pretty special.

Huge congratulations to all the participants, the winners, and the whānau who supported such a full and inspiring day. Events like this matter. We need to do everything we can to encourage young girls, and all young people to see themselves in technology, robotics, innovation, and leadership.

A big mihi also to Samantha, her hubby, Daniela, and the other judges – it was great spending the weekend with you and being part of such a positive kaupapa.

Ngā mihi nui and congratulations again to everyone involved.
