What a fantastic day judging the Robo cup regional competition at Glen Eden intermediate on Sunday.

Portage Licensing Trust was proud to help sponsor the event, and I was stoked to be there as a judge. My day job is in tech, so seeing tamariki and rangatahi designing, problem-solving, coding, presenting, competing, and backing themselves was pretty special.

Huge congratulations to all the participants, the winners, and the whānau who supported such a full and inspiring day. Events like this matter. We need to do everything we can to encourage young girls, and all young people to see themselves in technology, robotics, innovation, and leadership.

A big mihi also to Samantha, her hubby, Daniela, and the other judges – it was great spending the weekend with you and being part of such a positive kaupapa.

What a day out for the tamariki and whānau of Glendene Playcentre! The kids headed to Butterfly Creek for a hands-on morning of exploring, learning and playing together, and came back buzzing with new discoveries and a kete full of special memories.

Trips like these open up a whole new world for our littlest learners in The West. Ngā mihi nui to everyone at Glendene Playcentre for sharing the day with us, we loved seeing the smiles!
