Signs are going up and speed limits are going down around all South Wairarapa (kura) schools during travel times for the start of 2026 school year. ⬆️⬇️

A variable speed limit of 30km/h will apply outside every South Wairarapa school at the beginning and end of the school day, with activation of the new limits now in place.

These new speed limits will make it safer for tamariki (children) and their whānau (families) when heading to and from school. ✅

They are part of broader speed limit changes to be implemented across the district throughout the year.

Meet Keri!

Keri has stepped in to care for our community greenhouse at Ā Mua Community Resource Centre - keeping the growing and distributing of koha seedlings out into our community.

With a whooping 4000 seedlings going out over the past 12 weeks, we know this community-led project is being loved and increasing our local kai security.

We’re looking for people who want to give a hand, help out on our roster, share knowledge, and connect with our community. No experience needed, just a bit of time and a kind heart. Its a lot of fun and really does make a difference to many.
