Another brilliant parkrunday at Riverlution! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

322 finishers, 72 PBs, 13 first-ever parkrunners and 24 hi-vis heroes helping make it all happen. We also celebrated plenty of parkrun and volunteer milestones — ka pai koutou katoa! (Well done everyone!)🎉

🐕 A quick dog reminder: if you bring a canine companion to parkrun, it must be one dog per person, kept on a short, non-extendable, handheld lead at all times. These rules are there to keep everyone safe, so please help us by following them. Two legs or four, we want everyone to enjoy Riverlution! 🐾

📢 A gentle but important reminder 📢

Riverlution parkrun takes place on a shared public path, so it’s really important that we always keep left and leave space for other people enjoying the area. That could be cyclists, dog walkers, parents with young children, or elderly people out for a peaceful morning stroll.

We know how easy it is to get caught up in the excitement of the 5️⃣4️⃣3️⃣2️⃣1️⃣ PARKRUN! And because we start on such a lovely wide section of path, it can be tempting to spread out straight away. But there’s really no need — you’ve got 5km to do that!

A horde of 250+ enthusiastic people charging towards you can be annoying at best, and genuinely terrifying at worst. So please, please, please be considerate of other path users and keep left from the very start.

We love being part of this community and want to continue sharing this beautiful space respectfully. We certainly don't want to receive complaints — or worse, find ourselves in a position where events could be affected or even cancelled.

Keep left, be kind, share the path, and let's make sure everyone can enjoy their Saturday morning. ✨

Our Event #66 report is now ready to read!

Steve Harwood has captured a beautiful morning by the Ōtākaro/Avon River, as 286 parkrunners and parkwalkers made the most of the sunshine for our final parkrun of winter. 🌞🌿

From visitors near and far, to first timers, impressive milestones, PBs, and our wonderful 24 hi-vis heroes, there was plenty to celebrate. And with spring just around the corner, Steve reflects on what makes our wee riverside parkrun community so special. 💚🧡
