YAC is back soon for 2026! But we’d like to give a shout-out to everyone who donated for the Christmas Gift Drive and our lovely donation locations like Christchurch Kindey Society, and last but not least (a new donation location for us in 2025 but they tripled our usual donation haul - so thank you to your generous local community). Also want to reflect on our end of year Christmas Card making event where our team and some Rānui residents got together to make some cards for - such a great way to end the year.

DMC is a platform where young people can come to discuss wellbeing and experiences with accessing mental health and addiction services.

This DMC is an opportunity for young people in the Christchurch region to connect with other like-minded individuals and share what’s top of mind for them.

DMCs are facilitated by young people with lived experience. They provide a space for young people to share experiences around mental health and wellbeing in a way that contributes to building towards the aspirations young people have for the future of our youth mental health and addiction system.

We create a safe, sensory-friendly space to make people feel welcome. You will need to register to attend for free on the Whāraurau website.

What will happen to the information that is being collected?

The youth advisory team here at Whāraurau will produce a report with a summary of findings from all DMC events held throughout the year. This report will help inform decision-makers in government, leaders and workers in the sector so they can work towards changes that reflect a youth perspective.

Drop off before Friday 4th July!

We also want to say a massive thank you to our fantastic donation locations hosts - we couldn't do it without you!
