A huge thank you to the lovely folk who came along last Sunday to mulch/weed! As per usual I got too swept up in things to take good before/after photos, but we absolutely motored through that mulch pile and got to enjoy a beautiful sunny morning along the awa. Ngā mihi nunui to everyone, it'll be amazing watching these plants come into their own over time. 🌱

It's that time again!

We'll be meeting for our next planting on Sunday the 6th of July, 9:30 - 11am on the riverbank on Riverlaw Terrace, just across from 134 St Martins Road. Rug up warm and bring along any tools you'd like to use (but we'll supply them too).

Stick around for a well deserved cuppa and baking at the end! Everyone is welcome, we'd love to see you there

A huge thank you to everyone who came to help get over 100 plants in the ground along Fifield Terrace yesterday! It was a cold start to the morning but amazing to stand back at the end and see the work we'd done (and enjoy a cuppa). As always heaps of fun to spend a couple of hours digging, having a laugh, and managing not to fall in the river!

We'll be back popping in more plants next month on Sunday the 6th of July, 9.30-11am - come along if you're free! 🌱

Looking for something to do this weekend? Come join our working bee this Sunday 1st of June, 9:30 - 11am.

We'll be meeting on Fifield Terrace, on the riverbank at the intersection with Locarno Street. This is the first of a few plantings we'll be holding this winter. In total across these events we'll have around 400 plants to get in the ground!

Feel free to bring any gloves or tools you have, but as usual we'll have some available alongside tea, coffee and baking.

See you there!

Arohamai, we have decided to cancel tomorrow's working bee due to the high river flows, slippery banks and wastewater overflows that have occurred over the last few days.

Apologies for any inconvenience - we'll see you at June's working bee instead 😊

Looking for a good start to your Sunday? Come join us tomorrow morning from 9.30 - 11am in the Riverlaw Esplanade Reserve. We'll be doing a bit of maintenance (there's always something to do!) but putting our heads together too about our planting plans for this winter.

Feel free to pop along for as long as suits you. At 11am we'll stop and have cuppas and some baking. Hope to see you there!

A big thank you to the amazing volunteers who came along yesterday morning to give the reserve one last go over before the summer break.

Despite the baking sun we made a huge dent in the weeds, scrub cut the grasses threatening to swallow up our plants, and gave things a good water.

Meri kirihimete and we'll see you in February for our first working bee of 2025!
