During our design hui for Te Whakaoranga, we asked our project volunteers what their hope for the Kate Sheppard Site Revitalisation is.

Some of what we heard included:

In Te Ao Māori, women are te whare tangata – the house of humanity. The idea of humanity is at once responsible, and forgiving. This will be a safe space, for speaking and listening. A space for looking back and moving forward. A space for connection. A space for Te Mana o Te Wāhine.
