Waitākiri EcoSanctuary

Waitākiri EcoSanctuary The ‘Eco Sanctuary’ will connect people to nature through providing a place for our endangered wildlife in a predator free environment.

We support the establishment of a fenced, predator-free ecosanctuary, incorporating Travis Wetland and an adjacent part of the Ōtākaro-Avon River red zone, now owned by the City of Christchurch. This will form the beating heart of an enduring network of restored habitats extending throughout our ‘Eco City’.
