Sri Ganesha Temple Christchurch warmly invites you and your family to participate in the Vaigasi Visakam Pooja, a sacred celebration dedicated to Lord Murugan.

Vaigasi Visakam is one of the most auspicious festivals for devotees of Lord Murugan, as it commemorates the divine appearance of Lord Murugan on the Visakam star in the Tamil month of Vaigasi.

Lord Shiva released six divine sparks from his third eye, which were carried by the river Saravana Poigai and transformed into six babies. Goddess Parvati embraced them into a single deity with six faces

Lord Murugan, the embodiment of wisdom, courage, and victory over evil, blesses devotees with strength, knowledge, and spiritual growth. Worshipping Him on this sacred day is believed to remove obstacles, grant peace, and bring prosperity to families.

Join us in devotion as we celebrate this divine occasion with Kalasha Pooja, Abishekam, Bhajans, Aarthi, Prasad & Annadhaan.

*Sri Ganesha Temple* warmly invites all devotees to participate in the *“Shri Raman Nama Sankirtanam”* every *Thursday from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm*, commencing Thursday, 28th May 2026, at the temple.

*Rama Nama Sankirtanam* is the collective chanting of the divine name of *Lord Shri Rama,* which is believed to bring peace, devotion, and spiritual upliftment. Scriptures teach that chanting the sacred name of Rama helps calm the mind, remove negativity, strengthen faith, and fill our hearts with divine grace.

The name *“Rama”* is considered especially sacred because many saints and scriptures describe it as a *Taraka Mantra* —a mantra that helps one cross the ocean of worldly suffering.

We welcome devotees of all ages to join us in this simple yet powerful spiritual practice and experience the joy of collective prayer and devotion.
