This is a hard post to write, which is probably why it’s taken me so long to do.

As many of you know, last year I took a big leap to continue my life’s goal of ending animal testing in New Zealand by co-founding a new charity called Animal Research (BAR).

It was a huge leap of faith and it’s paid off. BAR is going incredibly well, and my time is now fully absorbed in all the important mahi we’re driving forward for animals.

While the growth and success of BAR is amazing, it also means I have far less time to dedicate to A Guide to Vegan, which I’m sure many of you have noticed with the lack of posts here recently.

I launched A Guide to Vegan almost 10 years ago and have spent thousands of hours building this platform to make veganism as easy and accessible as possible for people across Aotearoa. I know it has helped many people discover just how easy and enjoyable vegan kai can be, and in doing so, helped countless animals.

But we all know there is still more work to be done, and the need for this platform to continue to exist and thrive is as important as ever.

➡ So I’m now looking for someone, or a group of people, who would like to take the torch and continue growing A Guide to Vegan into the future.

Arnott's Farmbake Choc Chip 310g is now vegan. Please note that the new recipe shares the same barcode as the previous non vegan version, so you will need to check the ingredients list to ensure you are getting the vegan version.

Spotted this giant liquorice wheel at The Warehouse Timaru today! 🤩

I’m obsessed with black liquorice, but we all know how vague “plant-based” labels can be… so I scanned it with the Fussy Vegan app - and good news, it’s listed as vegan-friendly! 🎉

Straight into the basket it went… and yes, I’ve been nibbling away ever since 😂

I know it’s been a little quiet here at A Guide to Vegan but I’ve been in the wildly stressful process of moving house! not very vegan-content-y, i know, but I'll be back soon with all the vegan goodies around Aotearoa. 🌿
