🥎 Grow Our Umpiring Team! 🥎

Become an Orange Umpire this season! 🟠

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn umpiring while gaining experience on the diamond. Each team is encouraged to nominate an Orange Umpire. A developing official who will umpire games while being clearly identified as an umpire in training and supported throughout the season.

You don’t need to be an experienced umpire! Parents, whānau, supporters and club members are all welcome. 🙌

You’ll receive ongoing mentoring and guidance from our experienced umpires, including Chief Umpire Mark Andrell.

Could you be your team’s Orange Umpire? 🟠🥎
Get in touch or nominate someone from your team!

Let’s grow Marlborough softball together!

🥎 STORAGE CONTAINER CLEAN-UP 🥎

Our storage container behind Diamond One unfortunately didn’t have the best winter, with water making its way inside and damaging some of our equipment. 😬

A huge thank you to Sam Campbell and her whānau for rolling up their sleeves and putting in the hard mahi to clean up, dry out and salvage as much gear as possible ahead of our JAB Muster. ❤️💙

Some equipment, including our BBQ, will need replacing. The committee is already looking at ways to better weatherproof the container and protect our gear moving forward.

If you’re a local business who may be able to help us source or sponsor a BBQ, or you know of a business we could approach, please get in touch.

🥎 SOFTBALL NZ CEO VISITS MARLBOROUGH

Last Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Softball NZ CEO Casey Eden at the Lansdowne Hub for some whanaungatanga, kai and kōrero.

It was a fantastic opportunity for committee members and key stakeholders to connect, share ideas and hear Casey’s vision for the future of softball in Aotearoa.

We also discussed Softball NZ’s focus on growing participation through diversification, including exciting initiatives such as Slow Pitch and Diamond 5, and how these opportunities could help strengthen and grow softball here in Marlborough.

A big thank you to Casey for taking the time to visit and connect with our softball community. 🙌🥎
