KiwiHacks ‘26, the biggest high-school hackathon in New Zealand finished after 100+ high schoolers spent 24 hours making games, websites, and hardware projects, and having fun! Every team came in with their imaginations and left with a real project which anyone can use.

We’re hosting a free 24-hour hackathon run by teenagers, for teenagers. If you’re 18 or under, join us for a weekend of building, learning, and meeting awesome people.

Students interested in technology, coding, game development or entrepreneurship may wish to participate in KiwiHacks 2026, a free hackathon for high school students aged 13–18.

On 2-3 May 2026, at the GridAKL / John Lysaght Building, you'll have 24 hours to code a project from scratch, could be hardware or software! Participants of all skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Everything is free, including food and merchandise. Representatives from big software companies such as Canva and Vercel will be there to mentor and support participants!

KiwiHacks is organised by Auckland high school students and aims to build a culture of youth innovation and technology in New Zealand. Participation is in a personal capacity, not on behalf of the school.
