For me, building has always been about more than timber and nails. It’s about spotting potential.

In homes, in whenua, and most importantly, in people.

I’ve seen tired spaces transformed into something families can be proud of. I’ve watched apprentices grow and pass on their knowledge to the next generation. So I’ve realised the real work isn’t just about finishing jobs it’s about creating opportunities for others to grow.

That’s the real energy behind Let’s Get Building. It’s why I back people who want to make a difference, and why every project we take on is bigger than just the structure in front of us.

I’ve been a carpenter for awhile now, and I’ve noticed that improving or building a home, leads to building up the people living there.

Alen and I will be here step by step finding solutions, solving problems, and building.

🔨 Let’s Get Building is officially back

This time not as a “social media idea,” but as a boots-on-the-ground construction company here in Tāmaki Makaurau.

To kick things off, I want to introduce the backbone of this next chapter: Alen Pulos👷‍♂️

Alen’s no ordinary builder. Before joining me on site, he spent years as a trades tutor, passing on the skills of the industry to the next generation. And before that, he was the guy trusted to run full teams of tradies on big jobs, the one who made sure things actually got done.

That’s why he’s more than just part of the crew he is the crew. The way he works, teaches, and leads is exactly the energy Let’s Get Building is built on.

Over the next few weeks, you’ll see how this all connects: the projects we’re taking on, the way we bring old students into real jobs, and how we’re reshaping what it means to be part of the trades.
