🌟 It’s National Volunteer Week and Men’s Health Week!
This week we celebrate the volunteers who quietly make our communities safer, stronger, and more connected every day.
From street coordinators and emergency volunteers to neighbours who check in on others, your time and care make a real difference. Thank you for helping build resilient communities where people feel supported and connected.
At the same time, Men’s Health Week reminds us that looking after ourselves, our fathers, brothers, grandfathers wellbeing is just as important as looking after others.
Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is:
- Check in on a mate and stay connected with your community
- Take time for our own health and ask for help when we need it
- Link in with your GP for an annual/bi-annual full health check and access funded counselling sessions if need be - any little or large concern is worth the visit!
A simple conversation, a shared coffee, or reaching out to a neighbour can have a lasting impact and it all starts with each of us.
Acknowledging and remembering all those who give their time to others and encourage all men to prioritise their health and wellbeing - strong communities start with connected, healthy people!
