Shyness is not gentleness — it is self-imprisonment for a crime never committed.
A reserved personality is not the same as shyness. Many true gentlemen may be slow to speak, yet they are never shy to speak, say no and walk away. They do not resort to superficial smiles that betray a lack of confidence, but instead carry themselves with composure and strength.
Shyness confines individuals, shutting doors to opportunities and leaving room for exploitation. It is not a virtue. Gentleness, integrity, and discipline, however, are noble qualities that strengthen character.
Every person is born with an authentic self, one that carries inherent confidence, integrity, and discipline. To choose shyness is to choose unnecessary confinement. Yet there is hope: the best time to break free was twenty years ago; the second best time is now.
Cease the hollow smiles. Speak with clarity. Stand firm with unwavering integrity and discipline. In doing so, you embrace freedom and strength.
