Whangaparaoa Playcentre Whangaparaoa Playcentre is a parent-led ECE centre, where parents come together to teach, learn & play!

Playcentre philosophy is based on child-initiated play and recognises the parents as the first and best educators of their own children. Playcentre families receive a unique early childhood experience with opportunities for whanau/families to learn together. Playcentre offers a programme of education for whanau/parents that emphasises parenting and early childhood education including learning in c

hild development, play and learning, parenting skills, planning and delivering early childhood education, facilitation and management skills. Unique within the early childhood sector,

Playcentres are cooperatively managed by parents with support from experienced Association and Federation personnel.

Whangaparaoa Playcentre open day!
We would like to warmly welcome you and your children aged 0 to 5 to our Playcentre.

Tuesday 23rd June 9:30am to 12pm.
41 Stanmore bay Road, Stanmore bay.

Please bring along your child(ren)'s packed lunch and water bottle. As well as a spare set of clothing (we encourage getting messy).

We can't wait to meet you!

What is it?
Playcentre is more than just a playgroup or drop off early childhood centre. It is a parent lead early childhood education Centre. This means that the parents are involved in helping organise and supervise the sessions.

Playcentres take children from birth until they turn six and use the Te Whariki curriculum. Parents can access early childhood education qualifications through their Playcentre journey.

But its more than just that. It is your village. Its just as much for the children as it is for the whanau.
A place where many have made life long friendships.
