🏅✨ A Proud Moment for Our Community! ✨🏅
The Auckland Bonsai Penjing Art Centre Trust is thrilled to celebrate our Chair, Yuanyong Yang, who was honoured with the King's Service Medal in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours list!
Yuanyong received this prestigious recognition from the Governor-General in Auckland for his outstanding contributions to bonsai art in New Zealand and his dedicated service to the Chinese community.
For years, Yuanyong has been a passionate advocate for traditional Asian arts, working tirelessly to promote bonsai and penjing while building bridges between cultures in Aotearoa. His leadership has helped grow appreciation for these ancient art forms and brought our diverse community together through shared love of living art.
This honour reflects not just his individual dedication, but the collective spirit of everyone who has supported our mission to preserve and celebrate bonsai traditions in New Zealand.

🌳✨ Dragon Bonsai Day 2025 - A Celebration to Remember! ✨🌳
What an incredible day! On March 22nd, over 1,000 people joined us at Mt Eden War Memorial Hall to celebrate the beauty and artistry of bonsai and penjing.
Our community came together to admire stunning displays from Auckland's outstanding bonsai artists, each piece telling its own story of patience, skill, and connection to nature. We were especially honored to welcome Steven Yin, the talented young artist and popular bonsai lecturer from Wellington, who inspired us all with his knowledge and passion.
