A solid endorsement came through from Melissa Stokes on the Breakfast show this morning with some notable celebrities including Jacinda Ardern (probably), Tom Sainsbury - Comedian and Snapchat Dude, the Kiwi (all of them) and Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy.

Things are getting pretty cereal 😎

5pm will bring BOTY to a close, and while we won’t be number 1 (unless Little Spotted Kiwi/Kiwi Pukupuku for Bird of the Year’s mate had another crack at voter fraud) we achieved our goal of making more kiwis aware of our spoontastic boi. That there is the point of the competition (not just dank niche af bird memes)

Over the campaign more and more people have told us they saw spoonbills for the first time, and only knew about them because of our ridiculous memes spamming their feeds. That’s a job well done in our books!

This photo was sent to us by Phoebe Scherer who recently was stoked to meet some wild spoons. Lucky her 🥰😍

Well well well. Even little old is not safe from voter fraud. Don’t worry, we have kept our spoons clean and clear of this despicable attempt from the spotted kiwi!

Forest & Bird has discovered over 1500 fraudulent votes for the kiwi pukupuku/little-spotted kiwi in Bird of the Year/Te Manu Rongonui o te Tau.
