🗓️ Key Dates in Auckland
- The voting period runs from Tuesday 9 September to Saturday 11 October 2025 (voting closes at 12 noon on 11 October).
- Voting papers are sent to enrolled voters between 9 September and 22 September.
- If you don’t receive your voting pack by 22 September, you should request one or cast a special vote.
✅ When & How You Can Cast a Special Vote in Auckland
- You’re eligible to cast a special vote if:
- You didn’t receive your voting pack in the mail.
- Your voting pack was lost or damaged.
- You enrolled or updated your address after the roll closed.
- You’ll be travelling during the voting period.
- Your name doesn’t appear on the final electoral roll (though you are eligible).
- You’ll turn 18 after the roll-closing but before election day.
- Special vote packs will be available during the full voting period (9 September through 11 October).
🏛 Locations & “Vote-on-the-Go” in Auckland
- There are selected libraries across Auckland where you can cast a special vote.
- The Electoral Office in Auckland is also a location for special votes.

- Auckland also runs Vote-on-the-Go events (community centres, marae, markets, etc.) where you can enrol and vote on the spot.
- If your voting papers fail to arrive, the city has over 90 Vote-on-the-Go locations ready so you can still vote.
