Update: no Wednesday night session

Please note there will not be the Wednesday night session on 21 Jan.

Next volunteer session is this coming Sunday 25 Jan at 9-11am. Potting up has finished for the season, so we’ll be planting out the perimeter of the nursery. Hope to see you there.

Another great volunteer session at the nursery with over 300 kahikatea and Hall’s totara potted up. Thanks to our super star volunteers who made the trip in during the holidays.

The kahikatea that were potted up are destined for a spot near the river, and the Hall’s totara will in future find a home around Sawpit Gully.

The Arrowtown Community Nursery potting up sessions continue rain or shine (but hopefully not snow!). The next few sessions will be on:

· Sunday 21 Dec 9-11am
· Sunday 4 Jan 9-11am
· Sunday 11 Jan 9-11am

If you’re around and you can help, that would be awesome - we’d love to see you!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be potting up around 4,000 seedlings, and your help would make a huge difference. Come for a little while, stay for an hour, or stay the whole time — whatever suits you.

For anyone who hasn’t been onsite yet: the Arrowtown Community Nursery is located in the Queenstown-Lakes Community Housing Trust Tewa Banks housing development, off Jopp Street. The gate will be open at 9am and you’ll spot the nursery in the back right hand corner as you enter. For safety, please don’t enter any of the building sites as you make your way to the nursery.

The Arrowtown Community Nursery is officially open!

From Sunday 26 Oct we’ll be kicking off volunteer days to start growing the trees planted by the community at the Arrowtown Choppers Beech Parties. These trees will become the forests of the future in the hills around Arrowtown.

The nursery wouldn’t have been possible without the support and generosity of all the people and businesses who’ve donated time, skills, energy, funding and support. We can’t say thank you enough - and our future forests can’t say thank you enough. Each one of you has made a huge difference.

It’s time to go grow some trees!!

The Arrowtown Community Nursery was brought to you by Arrowtown Choppers with the help of QLDC, Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust, DevCorp, Arrowtown Golf Course, ORC EcoFund, Central Lakes Trust, ABPA, AVA, AJ Saville Builder Ltd, New Zealand Trails, First Light Travel, Outside Sports and Patagonia, Bidfood, Spectrum Drainage & Plumbing, Bow & Arrow Plumbing, PostMasters, J Smith, Arrowtown MenzShed, T McPhail, and The Arrowtown Choppers Committee
