Connect Hurunui Connect Hurunui runs multiple community-centric initiatives; community events, TimeBank Hurunui Time banking is a local exchange system that does without money.

For every hour of time you spend helping a fellow time banker, you receive a one hour time credit. You then use your credits to “buy” help from other TimeBank members. Time banking works best when you offer services you enjoy and are good at. These are then matched with requests for help from other members. Say you give two hours of babysitting; in return you will earn two credits. You might spen

d one credit on a piano lesson and the other getting your bike fixed. Time banking is not just for individuals. Organisations such as schools or sports clubs also participate. TimeBank Hurunui has three main goals:

- Strengthen the fabric of our community.
- Serve people and give them a means to serve.
- Establish new relationships and meet real needs of our community members.
