We are thrilled to officially announce that The Lead Nepal is a grantee of the British Council’s Equal Together: Gender Grants!
Through this grant, we are launching Katha Karnali, a project dedicated to documenting the lived experiences and stories of 30 young Dalit women in the Karnali province. By merging the arts of poetry and photography, we aim to create a space for their voices to be celebrated and preserved.
We are very thankful, honored to be recognized by the British Council Nepal and are eager to begin this important work. Stay tuned as we share more updates!
We are proud to introduce the 2025–26 grantees of Equal Together, a programme by the British Council supporting artists working at the intersection of gender, arts and culture in Nepal.
Twelve artists, collectives and organisations have been awarded a total of NPR 8,482,700 to deliver projects spanning theatre, film, literature, music, visual arts and community participation across the country.
Together, these initiatives aim not only to spark dialogue on gender equality, but to strengthen inclusion, amplify underrepresented voices, and contribute to lasting social change through the arts.
