9th December 2025 - Namche

The morning kicked off with hose drills, giving everyone hands on experience.

Kai Strachan was on the ground, supporting the team and ensuring each recruit understood the fundamentals.

The team energy in Namche was brilliant - focused, engaged, and eager to learn.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined this session. Training alongside such a committed team was a real pleasure.

9th December 2025 - Namche

Over 40 participants gathered to join us, local leaders, army personnel, doctors, medical staff, police, and curious members of the community. A powerful mix of experience, responsibility, and dedication.
From the very first step, all climbing together, side by side in uniform.

8th December 2025, Mong-La

The team held a scheduled training day in Mong-La, a small mountain village just under 4,000m. With few permanent residents but frequent visitors for the views and acclimatisation, itโ€™s a popular place to stop.

The day focused on essential life saving skills, including basic life support, CPR, haemorrhage control, stretcher techniques, back roping and fire blanket use.
Practical training to support safety in remote, high altitude environments.

6 December 2025 - Chukkung Ri

The team hiked to Chukkung Ri, a 5,550โ€ฏm peak above the village of Chuckkum.

We are privileged to work alongside inspiring individuals - local ice doctors who have long performed remarkable rescues, and who are now also trained as firefighters - continuing to serve their communities in challenging conditions with limited resources.

These unsung heroes exemplify resilience, professionalism, and a true spirit of service.

5th December 2025 - Dingboche

The morning began with Dr. Bethany Sim leading the crew through a Basic Life Support refresher.

Training focused on airway management, CPR, and AED use, immediately applied in practical scenarios to reinforce skills under realistic conditions.

Crews also practiced trauma care, including wound management, improvised tourniquets, and stretcher mobilisation, building confidence in both routine and emergency interventions.

5th December 2025 โ€“ Dingboche

The morning began with a focused recap of core lifesaving skills: first aid, airway management, CPR with practical scenarios, catastrophic bleeding control, tourniquet considerations, stretcher mobilisation, and back-roping techniques.

After lunch, crews moved onto hydrant operations and working from the lightweight portable pump (LPP).

Some issues with the LPP quickly became apparent-likely the result of transportation, with oil and fuel mixing and affecting performance. No drama, with George, our civil engineer, straight on the case and the strength and teamwork of our Nepali crew behind him, the pump was back in action and training resumed, finishing strong with branch work.

Steady progress and real learning.

It's not all hose running and scooting water. The best outcomes at an incident are what you do on the days/months before.
Protecting your kit so it protects
the team there's no excuse!
